Well, it was bound to happen eventually. At least in my house. You've heard me talk about how my two young daughters are already good at shooting one-liners at us from movies or TV shows with appropriate and hilariously funny timing.
Last week my youngest and I were on our way to pick up her older sister from school. She had said something that made me laugh, and then as most little ones do, kept repeating the same thing a few more times hoping to get the same response from me. After the third or so time, I said, "Ok, it's not funny anymore. You'll have to think of something else."
While she was thinking of what she wanted to say next, I said something I thought was funny to her. One of our family "inside-joke" variety of funny. And I heard her mutter something but couldn't quite make it out. However, I saw in the mirror the smirk that was on her face. At that point we pulled up to a red light. So I turned around and asked her to repeat what she said.
With a twinkle and slight roll in her eye, she exclaimed, "Ha-Ha. Very funny." My daughter "very-funnied" me! The nerve. You can bet she got a severe tickling once we were out of the car. The one-liners were funny enough, but now we've added sarcasm. I'm just hoping it stays funny...
My friend and fellow blogger Wendy at Weight..What? has a fun carnival at her blog called "Life is Funny." Every Monday we talk about something in life that we find funny. Be sure to go visit her blog to read her post along with links to other blogs who are participating.
