1. While on our way into the National Zoo, my husband asked our girls, "What's your favorite animal?" Without hesitation, my youngest yells with much enthusiasm and arms in the air, "MEEE!"
2. It is tradition that we drive around looking at Christmas lights after going to the Christmas Eve services at church. For quite awhile, we were oooing and aaaaahing at the beautiful decorations that people had on their houses. At one point, we drove through an area that didn't have anything to see. Our youngest exclaims, "Wow! Awesome!" My niece who was in the car said, "What? What did you see?" My youngest sweetly says, "Nooothing." (With a smirk on her face, of course.)
3. You may have noticed from several of my posts that my family loves to quote movies and favorite TV shows. This tradition is not lost on my kids, even though they are young. If you recall, our youngest has been caught quoting The Incredibles. This week, my oldest was caught quoting from The Emperor's New Groove. My niece made a comment about something as we were driving somewhere, and from the back seat we hear, "Riiiiiiight."
4. My niece and I were sitting on the couch. I was working on my laptop, my niece was reading a book. My youngest came bouncing over and snuggled up in between us. Still moving around a lot, I said, "Be careful hon, she's reading a book. It might be kind of hard for her to read if you keep bumping into her." My youngest looked over at her, turned back to me with a slight confused look and said, "But Mommy, there's no pictures in the book?!"
5. Me to my hubby upon going through my stocking on Christmas morning: "Did you get all of this stuff out of the kitchen cabinets?" Hubby: "Yes, that way I knew you'd like it." (Yes, he survived the day. Yes, I'm still waiting for a real gift.)
