Let us not become weary in doing
good, for at the proper time we will

Why I Need God To Be Who He Is

By Jason, M.Ed., M.A.R., Headmaster

Many Christians struggle to see the practical application of our proper theology. We learn things about God-- that He is omnipotent and omniscient and holy-- and we wonder what any of this has to do with our lives. Well, the truth is that we deeply need God to be who He is. Who God is has everything to do with how we live our lives and how our deepest needs are met.

So, why do I need God to be who He is? How does it make a difference to me?

Counting Our Blessings

By Jason, M.Ed., M.A.R., Headmaster

Yesterday evening was a sobering and inspiring reminder to me of how incredibly blessed I am. We had a wonderful fellowship dinner at church, followed by a presentation from a couple wanting to do work with Bible translations for the deaf. Their presentation was a reminder of the kinds of difficulties faced by hearing-impaired and deaf people all around the world. If you’ve read 1 Chronicles before, you will understand that this is where many plans to read through the whole Bible go off the tracks.

Choosing Sides in the Kingdom Conflict

The students at my school work on memorizing Colossians 3:1-17. This great passage from Paul begins with a charge and ends with a challenge. The book-ends of this passage are a clear call to our minds, hearts and lives:

"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth . . . And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
