The Day After

SNOWDAY ~ DAY 2
There are few things more beautiful than a sunny, gorgeous day after 36 hours of snowfall/blizzard conditions. The snow is still too powdery to build our snowmen, but it's perfect for building our fort and trail for sledding (which we did after shoveling our driveway and sidewalks... again).
I should share my favorite quote of the weekend. Yesterday, we had spent all morning outside playing and shoveling snow off the driveway and sidewalks. We came inside to warm up, dry off and eat some lunch. After we had gone back outside, the girls got to go sledding with some of our favorite teens up the street while my hubby and I went back to work on the driveway and sidewalks. As we stood looking at the driveway for a moment, my hubby says to me, "It's like someone hit the reset button." The snow we removed earlier that day was about six-seven inches deep. Now it looked like we hadn't done a thing. It was even deeper this time. Well, fortunately, being from the northwest, I love shoveling snow. So. We got to work... again.
I should also mention our trampoline... something we hadn't thought about until late yesterday afternoon. There was about two and a half feet of snow in the middle and it was sagging down about a foot and a half from the weight. The snow had also drifted up around the edges on the ground around it. It took me an hour to clean it off. Now that was A LOT of snow!
Our fort and sledding path.
The county said we officially got 19 inches, but with the sun shining and with the snow melting and stettling, our average depth was 13 inches.
What KC does on snowdays... and any other day.

It's beautiful. We had a lot of fun in the snow today too. Fortunately we have a snow blower because there is a lot of drive to clear. It was 18" deep after settling, which is right at the height of the blower. It also sucked for snow men. I build a snow fort and then dub out a tunnel for my daughter. Then I collapsed it on her while she was crawling through it.
Your fort is awesome! You really got a beautiful snow. You'd better come inside, though. Your nose looks a little redder.
Cool snow fort! I wish we'd get some snow here... I've yet to have a white Christmas. Can I come over to your house to play?
Wow, 19 inches?! Is that a record?
That's one cool fort. We're going to work on ours a little today, hopefully. And since you like shovelling, feel free to drop on by...
