Starting a blog is not just a matter of typing in some interesting articles.

There is a lot of technology behind it requiring some basic knowledge of the internet. But, the game has completely changed just in the last few months because of so many nifty blogging sites like WordPress, Typepad, and Squarespace. Now you don't have to know html or content management systems, you just have to know a little bit about arranging and organizing parts on the page.  Sometimes it's just a matter of cut and paste.

Things you don't realize is that you have to know all kinds of other areas that don't relate to technology at all.   Like referencing someone's article. How much can you use before it's considered plagarism or copyright infringement, or stealing revenue from their ads.

It's about knowing how to redirect domains. It's about navigating the social websites and the blogosphere in order to direct traffic back to your site. It's learning about advertising and the psychology behind it, what things will work, what things won't. It's not just about coding anymore.

It's only been a few days, but a lot of progress has been made. Much easier than I thought it was going to be.
