Life Is Funny: Where's KC?

If you have pets you know that sometimes they do things they know they are not supposed to do when we are not around. Just like a child, they wait until we aren't looking to get into mischief. Our cat, KC, is no different. Last week we were on our way out the front door when we realized we had forgotten something. My husband had run back upstairs to grab it when he found KC in a rather precarious position. Knowing she was somewhere she shouldn't be, she just froze as if she was hoping we wouldn't see her. Can you?

Life Is Funny: Rewind

Even though the TV is not a dominate force in our household, the power of TIVO has definitely had an influence on our lives. We had evidence of this last Monday evening.

Driving along in the car on the way to soccer practice, our oldest daughter spotted horses at a farm on her side of the car. As is often the case, our youngest didn't see the horses because we had already gone by.

In her frustration to see what her sister had pointed out, she calls up to the front seat, "Daddy? Could you please hit rewind?"

If only we could...

Life Is Funny: Er.Um.Uh.That.You.There...

I hope I'm not the only one who has trouble forming proper sentences when shocking things happen. Things like being a passenger in a car when the driver doesn't realize the cars in front of us have stopped. Instead of saying something coherent like, "Hey! Hit the brakes, the cars have stopped!" It comes out as, "Er, uh, ack, um, uh... (most times accompanied by furious pointing and pushing the invisible brakes with your own feet on the floor in front of you)."

Depending on where you live, you may or may not know what a Cicada is. Let me inform you. They are these nasty, LOUD, huge bugs with wings that come out in July and August every year. Each year apparently has a different variety, there are the "every 2-years," and the "every 17-years," etc. All I know is that we have them "every year." They don't bite or sting or anything, but the ick-factor is very high, at least for me. They are like gigantic grasshoppers on steroids.
