Fingerprint Friday: Daddy's Love

It's not the best picture, but you get the idea... The man is clearly covered with the fingerprints of God.

My kids, like most, love sidewalk chalk. Our entire driveway and the sidewalks next to it are like a blank canvass to them, and they love going out every sunny afternoon to cover them with their art.
I love the transition kids go through when they are so little from needing you to tell them or show them what to draw, to being completely independent and coming up with all kinds of amazing things on their own. Not to mention the joy they feel in showing you their masterpieces.

My husband and I spent nine hours working in our yard last Saturday. We had intended on only spending a few hours and then going on to do other things. But just like a bowl of pasta, it was never ending. Once we got started, it just kept going and going... and going and going. Two hours turned into three, five turned into nine... then we realized it was starting to get dark and our kids needed dinner and baths. So we had to stop.

I am so blessed to be able to stay home with my kids. I love every minute of it. Yes, we have bad days just like everyone else, but I'm glad to have those, too. I'm glad that I am the one who gets to see most of the "firsts," go to the playground whenever we can get it into the schedule, and I get to be a major influence in their little lives and not another caregiver (not sure if that's always a good thing for them!).
With every sunrise comes the promise of a new day.
A glowing image of God's fingerprint.
An opportunity to start over, to do better than the day before.
A day to live, to give, and share with one another...
