Book Review: Splat the Cat

Title: Splat the Cat
By: Rob Scotton (Best selling author of Russell the Sheep)
Reviewed By: EM, Age 5

The book is about a cat named Splat. He is worried about school. It was his first day of school. He tells his mom he doesn't have clean socks, and his mom says, "You don't wear socks!" He was trying to get out of going. Splat's mom asked if he wanted to ride his bike to school, so he did. And then the got to school. The teacher's name is Mrs. Whimpydimple (giggle). The kids all said, "Hi Splat!" At lunchtime, Splat opened his lunch box and his pet, Seymour (a pet mouse), jumped out. The kids said, "MOUSE!" And they chased him through the room. But then Seymour saved the day when he climbed, jumped, and crawled through a hole to open the milk door (that was locked). And they all drank the milk. They were all happy. Splat wakes up the next morning, he's so happy, he wants to go to school again, and again, and again. I think people would like this book a lot.

Steps for Brady

Momlogic posted a fantasic article written by a woman named Megan during a recent contest. In the article, Megan talks about how life sometimes takes unexpected turns. From having triplets, to her son being diagnosed with cancer (at 20 months), she writes an unbelievable short story about what she's been through. Megan is actually one of those mom bloggers out there with a website called, "Steps for Brady." She set up the site to share the journey her family is on during the treatment and hopefully the recovery of her son, Brady.
